I have a few questions about the sauna and jacuzzi that will be at Firegathering.
Will the sauna and jacuzzi be open for most of the day?
I have used saunas at other festivals, these have been Sam's Sauna, Heatwave Sauna, and Lost Horizon Sauna. Is it one of these saunas that will be at Firegathering? If not, how big is the sauna and jacuzzi i.e. about how many people can go in there?
Also is there any charge/s to use the sauna and jacuzzi?
Oh yes and is nudity permitted in the sauna and jacuzzi too? Or it strictly clothing compulsory?
The jacuzzi was open most of the time but does close for cleaning for a few hours at some point. I recon you could get about 10 people in the sauna and around the same in the jacuzzi. I doubt anyone will mind you not wearing clothes in the sauna, maybe best check before you jump in the jacuzzi if it's full of people though :)
Thanks. But are you saying that most of the people in the sauna(and jacuzzi) wear swimwear then? As all other festivals I've been to which have saunas, it's very much the general trend that people go in nude. Easily about 99% of people go in nude. I wouldn't like to go in there and be the only one nude.
I found a couple of photos of the jacuzzi at Firegathing on flickr. Looks good. Seems that a fair percentage of people do go in nude, according to those photos. As long as nude is allowed in the sauna and jacuzzi, that's ok with me.
Can you just clarify, will you be (hoping to) have two saunas this year then? Or do you mean another sauna to replace the current one?
Either way, I look forward to using the sauna/s and jacuzzi on the Friday night when I get there. And indeed on Saturday and Sunday too. What better way to relax! To me, a festival just isn't a festival without a sauna!
There is a sauna and jacuzzi which is a permanent feature of the site. We're also hoping to have a more traditional "sweat lodge" which will be in a tent in the healing area.
